Course Description

This course is designed to provide students with an indepth understanding of archaeology, local  history and folklore. Students will develop professional skills in the areas of research, writing, organisation and communications. Graduates of the course will be prepared either for the workplace or to progress to Third Level educatione.

Career prospects / progression

Graduates are eligible for careers in Heritage, Tourism, Library Services and Local and Community Information Services. Students also have the option to progress to a degree course through the higher links scheme.

Students who successfully complete this course achieve a FETAC Level 5 Award in Cultural and Heritage Studies (ECHSX).
