Course Description

This course is particularly designed to equip students with the skills and competencies required to work in the animal care area. Students will study animal behaviour and the basic anatomy of animals. The practical skills of grooming forms an essential part of the course with an introduction to the area of veterinary nursing.

Career prospects / progression

Successful students may secure employment in the range of industries involved with the caring and treatment of animals and in veterinary practices. It is envisaged that a follow on Level 6 course will be developed in Animal Management/ Veterinary Nursing.


Certification

Candidates on successful completion of this course achieve a FETAC Level 5 Award (CASAC).
