Course Description

This course is designed to introduce students to the area of building technology with an emphasis on energy conservation. Students will study the different methods of insulation using new materials and also different building types. The various alternative heating options will also be investigated.

Career prospects / progression

This course will open employment opportunities for students in the building insulation and energy conservation industry. There are also an ever increasing number of job opportunities in the area of alternative energy systems and building types.
Learners may also progress to the Level 6 Conservation and Sustainable Technology course in DCFE.
Students may also apply for a place in the various I.T. Colleges through the higher links scheme.


Certification

Candidates on successful completion of this course achieve a FETAC  Level 5 Award (CCONT).
