Course Description

The second year of the course is designed to further enhance the potential of students who wish to achieve the skills necessary to find employment in the architectural, engineering and design sectors. Our strong link with industry ensures maximum potential for our successful graduates. Two days each week will be spent in work placement during the second year of the course.

Career prospects / progression

Successful students gain employment through our Industrial Links Scheme in either the Architectural or Engineering sectors. Opportunities also exist in the Interior Design area. Progression to 3rd Level Colleges in Ireland and the UK is a realistic option from this course.

 

Certification

Students who successfully complete this course will be awarded a FETAC Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Architectural Technology and Design (AATDX)

 

Entry Requirement

Priority for entry to year 2 will be given to students who have successfully completed year 1 (Certificate AATDX). For direct entry to the second year students will be required to have achieved a certified level of 2D AutoCAD drawing. Mature students are welcome to apply.
