This course is for those who are planning to work with children as a Special Needs Assistant in a variety of different settings, such as the primary school, crèche, play school etc. The course covers: The role of the Special Needs Assistant, Relating to other Stakeholders, General and Specific learning disabilities, Challenging behaviour, and Child development.

Students may progress to FETAC Level 5 modules such as Understanding Special Needs and Special Needs Assistant.
