This course is for the complete beginner who has no previous experience of information technology. It covers the basics of the two most popular uses of computers - Word Processing and the Internet. Eight weeks will be spent on Word Processing covering text entry, editing, formatting, saving a file and printing. The two weeks on the Internet will cover Internet connection, search engines, accessing websites and setting up/using an email account. On completion of this course, students can proceed to the Computers for Improvers course in the Spring term.
