Course Description

This course is designed to provide students with the skills, knowledge and training in the setting-up and administration of networks, computer maintenance and Internet use. Students will also be trained in software development.

Career prospects / progression

Graduates will have the necessary skills to support small enterprise networking requirements or to function as part of a technical team in a larger IT environment. A current shortage of IT-qualified employees in Irish industry enhances graduates’ employability. There is also the opportunity to progress a FETAC level 6 course or to third level via the Higher Links Scheme.


Certification

Students who successfully complete this course will achieve a FETAC Level 5 Award in Information Technology (CITXX).
