Course Description

This course is designed to provide students with the skills, knowledge and confidence essential to pursue a career in Print Journalism. Students study all aspects of the industry and learn about the theory and practice involved in being a journalist. Students are encouraged to submit articles to newspapers, magazines and websites from early in the year and are given the skills to do so.

Career prospects / progression

Graduates have the option to embark on a career in print journalism, whether in a permanent or freelance capacity. They can also progress to third level through the higher links scheme.


Certification

Students who successfully complete this course will achieve a FETAC Level 5 Award in Print Journalism (EPJXX).
