Advanced Cert in Print Journalism


Course Description

The Advanced Certificate in Print Journalism is designed to build on skills and knowledge acquired from the Level 5 certificate in journalism, or equivalent. Students will undergo extensive training in writing skills and will be given the opportunity to find an area of journalistic specialisation, e.g. music, travel, business. Students will be expected to submit freelance work to various publications during the year.

Career prospects / progression

Upon completion of the course, graduates will have a completed portfolio of their published work and will be employable as staffing or freelance writers. They will also be eligible to work within the sub-editing and editing departments of print publications.


Certification

FETAC Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Print Journalism (EMPRO)


Entry Requirements

Students should have completed a FETAC Level 5 Certificate in Print Journalism EPJXX or have equivalent professional experience.
